But I don’t like to be actively looking for ideas. A lot of my ideas for books come from newspaper articles. I have the radio on pretty much all day, and a big part of my creative process is reading the paper. It’s not fancy input sometimes just listening to people’s voices or the way they phrase things can be inspirational. It’s about input, because this is really where ideas are born. Sunday is a day when I really try not to write at all. INPUT ONLY During the week I’m really focused on writing, and output. Sometimes I cut loose for a few hours and go see a friend or my mom.

My husband generally works a lot during the week, so Sunday is also our day when he’s around.

I like to go to the games, but often it’s Sean who goes. SOCCER, OR NOT If it’s fall or spring, Sunday is also soccer game day. I try not to start my nagging at breakfast, but Sunday is the day of reckoning, because nothing has happened homework-wise on Friday and Saturday. Sort of, is there homework? Have you thought about the homework? Hopefully it’s not some huge project that was supposed to be started two weeks before that involved photographing clouds over a two-week period, and now we have six hours to do it. Isn’t that nice? But my husband has actually gotten it lately and said it’s surprisingly good.ĭAY OF RECKONING I might start priming them for homework at breakfast.
